Frontier Tides
★★★★☆ 4.3
Frontier Tides asks you to grow a scattering of islands into a trading network, and it's smarter than it looks at first. You balance shipping routes, resource output, and the moods of rival settlements. There's no rush timer breathing down your neck, which makes it a thinker's game.
Pinch-to-zoom and drag navigation feel natural, and the UI stays readable even on smaller screens. I appreciated that you can queue orders and let a shift play out, then check back later. That fits how people actually use phones — in bursts.
Battery use is reasonable since it's not graphically heavy, and it runs smoothly on older hardware. My only gripe is the mid-game can drag before the diplomacy options open up. Push past that and it clicks.
